We Train & Employ Blind Professionals in Music, Media and Advertising

About Us

danny VMC (Visionary Media) is a not-for-profit, 501(c)(3) organization whose mission is to provide training and career opportunities in the fields of music, media and advertising to thousands of talented visually impaired people who would otherwise be overlooked.

VMC members are recruited based on talent and potential and then trained and promoted for roles such as musician, voiceover artist, sound production consultant, composer, comedian, vocal coach, and sonic brand designer.

doug-maxwell Founded in 2007 by blind music producer and composer, Doug Maxwell, with a startup grant from the National Industries for the Blind, VMC has achieved a membership of 60 musical artists and audio professionals, negotiated 30 artist contracts, booked 11 performances and generated nearly $85,000 in artist revenue.

Doug has over 25 years of experience in the music and advertising industries. Having produced music for stars such as Gladys Knight and Joan Osborne, and having composed music for brands such as Nabisco and Sheraton, Doug brings an influential network to other blind musicians, voice artists, composers, entertainers, and audio technicians. And because Doug is legally blind, he is well-positioned to advocate for opportunities for the blind in our target industries.

Doug's creative vision and network of industry contacts combined with Steve's network of blind organizations and record of raising revenue make VMC a significant force for impacting the quantity and quality of employment opportunities for America's blind population.
